About OBCE

The Observatory of the European Central Bank (Observatorio del Banco Central Europeo, OBCE) is a non-profit association, headquartered in Madrid (Spain).

Objectives

The OBCE has two main objectives:

  • To provide a forum where the players involved in the Euro area policy-making (including officers of the ECB and other central banks and regulators, Euro-zone's civil servants, academics and researchers) can discuss issues related to the Euro area (monetary policy, exchange rate policy, systems of payments, banking supervision, the world monetary system, etc.)
  • To promote economic research on issues related to the Euro area.
